Dirty Girls Come CleanFreshwater Theatre’s Dirty Girls Come Clean returned for a brief two week run January 20-28, 2012 at Nimbus Theatre in Minneapolis. The proceeds from the show went as a benefit for the Twin Cities chapter of Dress for Success!

Dress for Success provides professional attire and career development tools for disadvantaged women looking to get into the workforce. Since its inception in 1997, Dress for Success has served over half a million women around the world and right here in Minnesota.

We are so excited to be able to use this powerful show as a conduit to help empower other women.

Featuring fresh, original material by local writers and performers Maggie Sotos, Amanda ThommHannah Holman, Amy Salloway, Kjersti Bohrer, Allison Witham, Courtney McLean, Mame Pelletier*, Katie Starks*, J. Merrill Motz* and Ariel Leaf*, Freshwater Theatre examined the “Dirty Girl” idiom and all its potential meanings.

By turns raw, hilarious, introspective and sexy, this confessional style festival featured original work by some of the best local writers and performers in the Twin Cities. Running the gamut from autobiographical to biblical, each piece is a unique take on how women define themselves, or are defined by others.
