Freshwater Theatre is proud to announce that Dirty Girls Come Clean will be returning for a brief two

week run this January 20-28 at Nimbus Theatre in Minneapolis. The proceeds from the show will go the Twin Cities chapter of Dress for Success!

Dress for Success provides professional attire and career development tools for disadvantaged women looking to get into the workforce. Since its inception in 1997, Dress for Success has served over half a million women around the world and right here in Minnesota.

We are so excited to use this powerful show as a conduit to help empower other women.

Featuring fresh, original material by local writers and performers Maggie Sotos, Amanda Thomm, Hannah Holman, Amy Salloway, Kjersti Bohrer, Allison Witham, Courtney McLean, Mame Pelletier*, Katie Starks*, J. Merrill Motz* and Ariel Leaf*, Freshwater Theatre examines the “Dirty Girl” idiom and all its potential meanings. What do you think of when you hear that term? What is “dirty” or what even qualifies one to be a girl?

By turns raw, hilarious, introspective and sexy, this confessional style festival features original work by some of the best local writers and performers in the Twin Cities. Running the gamut from autobiographical to biblical, each piece is a unique take on how women define themselves, or are defined by others.

Audience members will also be given the chance to share a “dirty” story/secret of their own. Cards will be made available in the lobby with which you can write your own short “dirty confession”, and mail them in to us at Freshwater Theatre. Those stories/confessions will then be posted on our website.
